Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about 559 Overstock.

How does 559 Overstock work?

Businesses list surplus inventory with photos and pricing. Other local businesses browse and claim items they need. Pickup happens at the seller's location during agreed windows. Payment is handled in person.

Is there a fee to list items?

No, listing items is completely free. There are no listing fees, transaction fees, or commissions. The platform is free for all Fresno and Central Valley businesses.

What types of items can I sell?

Any business surplus is welcome: baked goods, prepared food, raw ingredients, wholesale produce, flowers, retail goods, restaurant supplies, catering equipment, and more. Items must be legal to sell and in good condition. Perishables should be listed same-day.

How do I price my items?

Sellers set their own prices. Most surplus sells for 30 to 70% off retail value. Price competitively based on condition, quantity, and freshness. You can adjust pricing at any time.

What if someone claims an item but does not show up?

Claims expire after 24 hours. If a buyer does not pick up within the window, the claim is automatically cancelled and the item becomes available again.

How does payment work?

Payment happens in person during pickup. Accepted methods are agreed upon between buyer and seller (cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, etc.). The platform does not process payments.

Can I sell to consumers or only businesses?

559 Overstock is a B2B (business-to-business) marketplace. Both sellers and buyers must have registered business accounts. Business information is verified during signup.
